Irum Farhat Farooq is an education leader and entrepreneur with over two decades of experience in the learning and enrichment sector. A Cambridge-certified educator, she began her teaching career in Singapore and has since worked across multiple international contexts, gaining deep insight into effective educational practices across both public and private education systems.
Driven by a passion for social impact and innovation, Irum co-founded MetaMindz Learning Center in Dubai in 2012, one of the region’s early pioneers of blended learning. Through MetaMindz, she focused on empowering students, parents, and educators with effective programmes and strategies that support personalised learning and meaningful academic intervention. Her work has consistently explored how technology and digital innovation can enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
During her time at MetaMindz, Irum worked closely with the Dubai Government to deliver Summer Camps at public libraries. MetaMindz also became the first exclusive academic enrichment provider across GEMS Education schools in Dubai, further strengthening her experience working at scale within diverse education systems.
Building on her experience in supplementary education and her commitment to introducing evidence-based innovation to the sector, Irum secured exclusive representation rights for Curriculum Associates across the Middle East, Africa, Türkiye and Pakistan in 2018. In 2019, she founded EduEnhance with a clear vision to promote equity, quality, and innovation in education across diverse geographies.
Under her leadership, EduEnhance has evolved into a multi-vertical education services organisation spanning curriculum solutions, professional learning, and technology-enabled platforms. Recognising a growing need for more meaningful and sustained professional development in the region, she established EduEnhance Professional & Management Development Training as a dedicated arm focused on delivering evidence-based, locally relevant professional learning for educators and organisations.
Through EduEnhance’s professional development initiatives, Irum along with her talented team of educators has championed a more comprehensive approach to professional learning — moving beyond one-off workshops toward full-cycle learning experiences that support teacher growth, leadership development, onboarding, and institutional improvement. These efforts combine expert-led courses and workshops, consultancy for schools and organisations, and digital platforms that enable ongoing reflection, coaching, and measurable impact.
A key part of this ecosystem is EduEnhance’s partnership with IRIS Connect, a video-enabled professional learning platform that supports reflective practice, peer collaboration, and AI-assisted coaching. Through this exclusive partnership, schools across the region are able to embed continuous professional learning into everyday practice and strengthen the connection between professional development and improved teaching and learning outcomes.
Alongside its work with schools and institutions, EduEnhance is also expanding access to professional learning through Inusarra for Educators, an initiative designed to provide individual educators with high-quality courses and learning opportunities tailored to regional needs.
